On Tuesday, Feb. 26, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. announced that Lee Ann Borg, a former employee of the Rye and Greenwich YMCA has been arraigned on a charge of grand larceny following her arrest on Tuesday morning for allegedly stealing more than $190,000 using a YMCA corporate credit card.
According to the indictment, Borg made personal purchases with her Rye YMCA corporate credit card. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. said that as a former senior program manager at the YMCA, Borg was authorized to make purchases for the organization’s programs and events.
Scarpino said that Borg allegedly used that power by making personal purchases from retail stores for items such as prescription medication, clothing and other personal items as well as several thousand dollars in gift cards deposited into her PayPal account for her personal use. The YMCA was alerted to the misappropriated funds and reported it the Scarpino’s office.
Borg was arrested on Feb. 26 by the Westchester County District Attorney’s Criminal Investigators. She was charged in Rye City Court and scheduled to appear again on March 5.
Gregg Howells, the Executive Director for the Rye YMCA said that his organization “expects to be fully reimbursed for our loss by our insurance carrier, and we have taken corrective measures to make sure this does not happen again.” He noted that at the request of the District Attorney’s Office, there will be no further comment due to the ongoing criminal investigation.

In Rye, Borg was tasked with overseeing camp, family, child care, teens, gymnastics and sports programs. She took the place of Hillary Southard, who took over as the director of the Greenkill YMCA camp. She came to Westchester after serving as the director of programs, wellness and member services at the YMCA of Greenwich. She previously was employed by the Stamford YMCA.
